Japanese Shosha (trading) Companies
Japanese Shoshas’ main business is buying and selling goods such as chemicals and other raw materials used in a variety of industries. They need to ensure that the agreements they enter into with the buyers and sellers do not include onerous terms including terms that assign liability to the Shosha for product failure and that the seller and the buyer have sufficient resources including product liability insurance to protect the Shosha in case claims are asserted against the Shosha.
